WV PTA WEEKLY NEWS 1.26.20

GOOD EVENING WILDCATS,
I hope all your kiddos are excited for Blue Ribbon spirit week this week!!

BLUE RIBBON SPIRIT WEEK
This week we are very excited to celebrate our amazing Blue Ribbon award at WVE. Each day the students have a different theme they can participate in, and at the end of the week there will be an exciting celebration for the entire school!! Watch out for a special “treat” they’ll bring home in their backpacks Friday and please dig out those Blue Walk-A-Thon shirts in the meantime.

Monday- Be a Hero Day: Dress in your favorite super hero wear.

Tuesday- You Are Out of This World Day: Dress like an alien or space creature

Wednesday- Show Your True Colors Day: Wear as much of your favorite color as possible

Thursday- Be a Part of a Team Day: Wear clothes to represent your favorite sports team

Friday- True Blue Day: Wear your blue WV Walk-A-Thon shirt.
*** How much fun would it be for the kids if the school is a sea of blue during their special Blue Ribbon assembly. Please remind your students to wear their Blue Walk-A-Thon shirts!!

As in past challenges, the classroom that collects the most box tops will win a classroom pizza party and the highly coveted Box Tops Trophy! Last year, we raised over $1,000 for our school from box tops, let’s see what we can do this year! Also, scanned box tops will count for double the points!

WEST VINCENT DADDY/DAUGHTER DANCE
Please mark your calendars for our 2nd Annual WVE Daddy/Daughter Dance. Enjoy a magical evening with the special little girl(s), grades K-6, in your life! Girls may be escorted by dad, grandpa, uncles or another adult. We will have a DJ, photo booth, refreshments, activities and memory making with loved ones. The event will be held on February 21st from 6:30-8pm in the all-purpose room. If you are able to attend please RSVP HERE so we have an accurate headcount for planning purposes.

PTA BOARD MEMBERS NEEDED
The kids are getting older so many of our Board members will end their time on the Board at the end of this school year. We are looking for people to be the next generation of the WV PTA!! The bonus is, there is time to shadow a current member so the transition is seamless. The level of commitment varies. Contact Cindy Hutcheson if you would like to learn more or have any questions. This rewarding position is one you will truly enjoy!

RETRO MOVIE NIGHT
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Retro Movie Night on Friday, January 24.  We had a great time watching the eighties flick "The Princess Bride."  Special thanks to Movie Tavern Exton, who donated the delicious popcorn!

WEST VINCENT’S GOT TALENT
