WV PTA WEEKLY NEWS 09.22.19

GOOD EVENING WILDCATS!

As it turns out, my family and I will be relocating to Atlanta, GA in the very near future, so Jessica Neiderer has kindly agreed to take over duties with PTA Communications! Next week you will start to see her name pop up in place of mine. You are in good hands.

WILDCAT WALK-A-THON
We are super excited about our 3rd Annual Wildcat Walk-a-Thon on October 15. Now is the time to mail the red Walk-a-Thon post cards to those you might like to ask for donations. Time flies this time of year so you want to allow plenty of time for postcards to be received and donations to be calculated. We are super excited about the amazing sponsors and prizes we have available this year! We will share more about this in the weeks to come and on our PTA Facebook page. If you have any questions, you can send an email to Cindy (cindyhutcheson2007@gmail.com) or Katie (katiefelmlee@gmail.com). Please donate and check out many of our sponsors at https://www.westvincentpta.org/wildcat-walkathon. Remember, we are working toward phase 2 of the playground enhancement. Please help us reach out goal!

FALL BOX TOP CHALLENGE

Our first box tops challenge is underway and will end Friday, September 27th. There are two ways to participate between now and 9/27:

1) send your paper Box Tops into school, cut and placed in a baggie,

2) Scan your receipts for the electronic box tops, remember receipts must be scanned within two weeks of purchase. To give credit to your classroom click the STAR icon, then enter Grade - Teacher Last Name, ex. 6th - Smith. If you have scanned box tops previously, you can go back and attribute those to your classroom. Directions for applying to past scans: open the app, go to My Lifetime Earnings, click on the individual transaction and in the box labeled Credit, enter Grade - Teacher Last Name. If you don’t see this as an option, please update your app, the Box Top team made updates to the app just this past week.

The classroom that collects the most box tops will receive a soft pretzel party in October!

REFLECTIONS ART CONTEST

The National PTA’s arts program provides a wonderful platform for students to bring out their creative talents and be recognized for their original artwork. Students of all grades (K-2, 3-5,6) and abilities can explore their inner artist with an opportunity to be recognized at the State and National level. This year’s theme of ‘Look Within’ inspires our students to look not only within their own imaginations but also within our world to come up with creative and artistic interpretations.  Let them share their story through dance, a short film, a poem or story, a photo or a visual work of art. All entries will be collected by October 18. For more information, please see our Reflections page

Tomorrow is Day 4. Have a fantastic week!
