WVES PTA Communications - 6/2/2019

Congratulations to OJR Senior Catherine Cervi for receiving the Annual West Vincent PTA Scholarship for $500. We wish her all the best at James Madison this fall!

Congratulations to Charlotte Burke who was selected as one of only 3 winners in the Pennsylvania Defeet Distractions Poster contest put on by the National Road Safety Foundation and the PA PTA. Charlotte won $500 for the West Vincent PTA and a cash prize for herself!!!! Great work Charlotte!!! Please remind your kids to be safe when they are walking.  

YEARBOOKS
Yearbooks will be distributed to those who ordered them tomorrow -  Monday, June 3.  All 6th graders will also receive a yearbook courtesy of the WV PTA.  If you did not order a book and wish to do so, there will be a limited number available on a first come, first serve basis starting on Monday, June 3 in the school front office.  Books are $25 each and payment can be made via cash or a check payable to the West Vincent PTA.  If you have questions contact our yearbook chairperson Saunde Briggs, saunde@hannumshd.com

SOCCER
There is still 1 more chance to see the Philly Union Soccer Team play while also supporting the WV PTA.   Anytime you purchase tickets to a Union home game between now - June 8 using this link (https://groupmatics.events/group/Westvincent19) money will go back to WV PTA.  You can share this link with anyone you like.  List the student that referred you to the ticket sale and they can earn fun Union prizes.  If you have questions, contact Cindy Hutcheson, cindyhutcheson2007@gmail.com

FINAL PTA GENERAL MEETING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR
Join us for the last PTA meeting of the school year on Tuesday, June 4 at 7:00 pm in the WVES library.  This is a great way to know what is going on at WV and how you can help.  

READING INCENTIVE
If you participate in the PTA Reading Incentive program, please be sure to turn in your completed May calendars on Monday so you can get your surprise before the end of the school year!  Calendars can be printed at https://www.westvincentpta.org/reading-incentive.  Special thanks to Amy Shumaker for chairing the program this year!  And keep reading this summer.

I would like to take this time to let you know that this will be my last email for the West Vincent PTA.  Jimmy will be moving on to middle school, so my time at West Vincent is over. Having sent these emails and updating the website for the past 7 years, I'm sure it will feel like I'm forgetting something on Sunday nights for a little while! You'll be in good hands - Elly Hensman will take over the Communications piece for the PTA.  Thank you for being so kind over the years!!!
