January 16, 2017 Weekly Email

Wednesday night is the third part of Tom Stecher's program, and it's geared to parents of students at WVE.  Earlier in the day, the children will have grade specific assemblies with Thom expanding their social-emotional learning and relationship skills, and the staff will have their own breakout sessions.  
If you ever wished your children came with a manual, if you ever wanted to strengthen your relationships, particularly in areas such as trust, respect, and personal responsibility, and increase positive behaviors in school and at home, this is your chance! Having nationally-recognized speaker, Thom Stecher and Associates, address our whole school community is an exceptional opportunity. Childcare will be available in the library. Congratulations to all of our Science Fair participants and winners! There was a great turnout for the Open House on Tuesday night. Mrs. Flexner, Mrs. Hineman and Ms. Harrington did a fantastic job of running this event!

Shout Out orders for the Talent Show are due next week!  Purchase a Shining Star Shout Out for $5 - a brief encouraging message for your performer(s), or a 1/4 page Shout Out for $10 or a 1/2 page Shout Out ($20) - a message plus a picture of your performer(s). If sending a photo (horizontal or vertical will work), please email it in full size to mncantarero@gmail.com.  

--> Deadline to submit your orders in an envelope marked "PTA - Talent Show" is Monday, January 23, 2017 so we can create an accurate, memorable program for our families.
    CORRECTION: The date to submit your music is Wednesday, January 25, 2017.

Talent Show parents - Thank you for coming to the Preview Night last week! If you did not hand in your (edited) music, please send to mncantarero@gmail.com by Wednesday, January 23.

Start clipping those box tops!  The next classroom challenge will run January 30th-February 10th.  The winning classroom will receive a hot chocolate party and pajama day (grades k-3) or extra recess (grades 4-6).  Of course, the winning team will also gain ownership of the Box Tops Trophy!  

Tuesday is Day 2.
